Search Services

There are literally hundreds of funding sources with thousands of individual programs and solicitations for research, training, conferences, equipment, pre and post-doctoral fellowships, service and other activities. Determining which of these sources are appropriate for your projects can be a daunting task that demands a variety of approaches.

The services below allow users to 1) request a #Custom Search link below to "Custom Searches" by the staff of the Office of Research Services; 2) sign-up for a service that will provide #Periodic Notices link below to "Funding Services" of funding opportunities; or 3) conduct an #ad hoc link below to "Ad hoc searching on Your Own" search.

Ad hoc Searching on Your Own

In addition to its Alerts service noted above, IRIS provides ad hoc searching of its database of funding opportunities, which is updated daily. Postdoctoral researchers find this tool to be very useful to begin their search for funding. GrantsNet provides information on opportunities, for graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty.

Signals and the Biomedical Sciences Report are newsletters that you can search for upcoming opportunities or use their archives to plan ahead.
